Call for Tutorial Proposals

We are pleased to invite proposals for tutorials to be held in conjunction with the conference. Tutorials are designed to provide fundamental knowledge and experience on topics related to intelligent user interfaces, and the intersection between Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Important Dates (AoE)

Tutorial Deadline:July 6th, 2026
Tutorial Notification:Aug. 4th, 2026
Tutorial Camera Ready Deadline:Dec. 10th, 2026

Tutorial Scope

We invite proposals for tutorials on specific topics relevant to IUI, including:

  • Methods and approaches in HCI and AI.
  • Specific techniques or algorithms to develop intelligent user interfaces.
  • Full-day or half-day sessions providing hands-on experience or fundamental knowledge.

Organizer Responsibilities

  • Publicity: Organizers are responsible for producing a CFP and publicizing it to relevant newsgroups and electronic mailing lists.
  • Website: Organizers will maintain their own website which will be referenced by the ACM IUI 2027 website.
  • Publication: A summary of the tutorial will be included in the ACM Digital Library for IUI 2027.

Proposal Format & Submission

  • Length: Maximum 4 pages (single-column).
  • Template: Latest Word Submission Template or LaTeX template.
  • Submission Link: PCS 2.0 (Select SIGCHI -> IUI 2027 -> IUI 2027 Tutorials).
  • Contact: We encourage you to contact the chairs with your ideas (workshops2027@iui.acm.org) to work together on the proposal.

Proposal Organization

  1. Name and title: One-word acronym and full title + “(Tutorial)”.
  2. Description: Relevance of the topic to IUI and its interest for the audience.
  3. Previous history: List of previous tutorials held on the topic and participant counts.
  4. Organizer(s): Names, affiliations, emails, and web pages. Provide a brief background and a list of other tutorials/workshops organized in the past. Indicate the primary contact.
  5. Participants: Expected number of participants and plan for invitation.
  6. Tutorial activities: Description of teaching activities and hands-on exercises. List all materials provided (e.g., slides, hardware/software access, handouts).
  7. Planned outcomes: What the tutorial aims to achieve by the end of the session.
  8. Length: Full-day or half-day.
